Wound Care Nurse RN Coordinator

The Wound Care RN Coordinator is responsible for coordinating treatment to provide comprehensive wound care and plan of care, including goals, implementation of treatment, evaluation and outcomes for patients throughout the organization under the supervision of the Director of Wound Management.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Responsible for planning, prescribing, coordinating, delivering and/or delegating the nursing care needs of patients with acute and complex medical or surgical conditions, who require wound care, for an assigned shift. 
  • The Wound Care Registered Nurse reports to the Therapy Service Manager and may supervise other nurses in the delivery of wound care. 
  • The RN will provide patient, family and staff education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selections and other therapies. 
  • The RN will serve as a resource for the assigned nurse, assisting with and facilitation wound care for inpatients with complex wounds. Additionally, the RN is able to perform general nursing duties. 
  • The Wound Management staff RN will not be included in the general nursing matrix without the approval of the Director of Wound Management.


Minimum Education: Graduate of an Accredited  Professional School of Nursing. Bachelor of Science( BSN) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree preferred.    

Minimum Experience: One (2) years recent experience as a RN in a Wound Care setting. Three (3) years of experience preferred. 

Req. Certification/Licensure: Current California RN license. Current American Heart Association ( BLS) required, (ACLS)  preferred, Wound Care certification preferred.
