Radiology/CT Tech

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Administers prescribed dose of ionizing radiation according to physician's written prescription and established departmental policy and procedures. 
  • Performs adjuvant procedures which aid in the management of patient care. Shall seek guidance from the Supervisor or the Radiologist.
  • Instructs and prepares the patient, selects appropriate equipment and technical factors, determines most suitable anatomical positions and shields patients according to radiation safety procedures.
  • Arranges, attaches or adjusts immobilization and supportive devices such as sandbags, binders, and angle boards to obtain precise position, prevent patients from moving and lessen discomfort.
  • Assists in performing sterile technique procedures as required.
  • May train and evaluate radiological students.
  • CT Tech utilizes computerized tomography scanners to produce cross-section images of patients.
  • Accurately interpret scanning instructions.
  •  Prepare and operate CT scan equipment.


Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technology or CA DHS, Radiologic Health Branch School.

Minimum Experience: One (1) year experience is preferred, but not required.

Req. Certification/Licensure: Current California Radiologic Technologist (C.R.T.) with fluoro permit preferred.  American Heart Association (BLS) required. Must maintain Active CRT. ARRT (R)(CT), and CPR certification/License.
